and then quickly check each one so you're clear on what YOU need.

"MSD" for Consultants
The Marketing, Sales and Delivery (MSD) are the three core pieces of any Consulting business.

When you get each of them working together smoothly, you can grow your business from 5 to 6 to 7 figures (if that's what you're after).

Or you can become very stable at the level you're at now, just by getting these 3 pieces working together really nicely.

If you are looking at growth:

- Usually 5 to 6 figures is when you have the Marketing & Sales steps working,

- The 6 figures and beyond is when you're Delivery is working nicely - as you're retaining and adding more clients to your business, 

- It's all about making sure you're focused on the right area - you know, just like we tell our clients?

(and yes, the analogy of the plumber whose house  leaks is always very appropriate for us)

Let's just make sure we're talking about the same things:

#1 - Marketing Problem: Not Enough Sales Calls Booked
"You're just not getting enough sales calls happening?"

a. Either you're not getting enough leads into your inbox, 

or 

b. The leads that are coming through are not "good enough" - i.e. not qualified or interested enough or have enough money to afford you

Both of which means you're struggling to get new clients

#2 - Sales Problem: Not Able To Convert Calls Into Clients
You are getting to talk to people who are interested in working with you, but:

a. they're not "good enough" - i.e. not qualified or interested enough or have enough money to afford you

or 

b. they are interested, but you're struggling to "close them" (i.e. you're finding it hard to help them into a paid consulting engagement) - perhaps:

i. it's taking too long between initial calls and the engagement starting
ii. you're spending hours of unpaid work trying to convert those interested into clients
#3 - Delivery Problem: Too Much Time Delivering, Not Enough Time for Marketing or Sales
Your Marketing and Sales have worked so well that you're now full up with Delivering what you've promised and ...

But now you don't have enough hours in the day to work on Marketing or Sales, and so you go through peaks and troughs of work, because Delivery is such a time suck...
